Surplus mannequins are crowded and caged out of the way in an ugly building; echoes of inhuman treatment to real people.
All are white, except for one silver figure. Do mannequins here reflect racial stereotyping? Of 244 figures in Cambridge shopping centres recently 80% were white, 12% black, 5% brown and 4% other (silver, gold, transparent etc.). Is this the same as the customer/population profile? See post of 14th December 2014 on gender.
