A main reason for going to Venice this year was to see the Biennale exhibitions. Many artists’ works are displayed around the city and one of the great pleasures is finding them in unexpected and previously unexplored corners. Michael Parekowhai’s installation for New Zealand, ‘On First looking Into Chapman’s Homer’ was shown at the Palazzo Loredan dell’Ambasciatore at the end of the Calle dei Cerchieri, which falls into the Grand Canal. This courtyard, a mini piazzetta, lies on the north side.
