Trieste

I’ve just finished reading Gordon Bowker’s James Joyce – A Biography.  Joyce emerges as every bit as creatively strange as his books.  He lived in Trieste from 1907 to 1920.  I’ve always equated one of the figures in this picture with Nora Barnacle, his muse and wife.
