Anglesey Figures Revisited

Reading through my diaries for a project I’m working on I came across this entry for 20th September 1980:

Narcissus, Anglesey Abbey, May 2022

‘We spent the afternoon at Anglesey Abbey searching fruitlessly for conkers.  There were very few about, and those we found were barely ripe.  But the walk round the grounds was pleasant enough.  I was reminded that my project to photograph the statues is hardly started, like so much else.’

Well, I got there in the end – Ambivalent Auras was completed in September 2021, see post 28/09/21.  And I’m still fascinated by the figures.
