Booze in the Pews

All Saints, St Ives, October 2021

A church has decided to change its name from St Michael’s to St Mick’s in an attempt at attract younger people to the congregation.  Perhaps we will soon see St Andy’s, St Maggie’s and St Matt’s.  All Saints, St Ives, has a different approach to outreach: this weekend it’s hosting ‘Booze in the Pews’.  No communion wine, but you can have a Brazillian (4.6%), Bollocks to Covid-19 (4.0%), Three Wise Men (4.6%) and a selection of 26 other cask beers.  There is also larger, cider and eight flavoured gins, including Breakfast Marmalade.  The money changers in the temple take credit cards.
