4th October 2022. Mid-afternoon walk along Broad Lane, Cottenham, across Great North Fen as far as Archie’s Bridge (Archie was a horse). It’s about 1.1 miles, so no great distance, but always a pleasure: far horizons; changing crops; vast, ever-varying skies; diverse, if modest, fauna and flora; and invigorating exposure to the weather.
