Travels – Italy & Syria

In my post on 27th August I said that the travel book I’m working on will, ‘celebrate, difference and individuality, yet also draw on connections’. These two pictures may be examples of this. The settings of the Roman columns are different and individual, yet despite being thousands of kilometres apart they are connected through the shared classical architecture of the Roman world. This is a real connection spanning centuries, countries and cultures.

But are all connections real?
