The brief for today’s session was to: demonstrate post processing; and create/take a funny photograph.
Post Processing
For the post processing I wanted to continue with my long term project to photograph the fen landscape. I decided to: photograph from the top of the Haddenham ridge along the Wilburton – Haddenham Road; set aside the afternoon of 5th December to take the photographs; and use a photograph from that afternoon, irrespective of the weather. In the event it was a grey day with just the occasional small break in the cloud cover to allow through a hint of the sun. These are the before and after results.

The post processing was restricted largely to using digital tools to: convert to black and white; change overall exposure; dodge shadows; burn in lights/highlights; and selectively adjust tones using the colour sliders. In post processing I try to keep as close as possible to using tools that are digital versions of darkroom skills I once used
Funny Photo
My funny photograph was taken at Anglesey Abbey during the ‘Bear Hunt’. The bear being eyed by the lions with the temple in the background has hints of a Roman circus.
