May Cottage, Titchwell 15th September 1978
On Titchwell Marsh under a cloud-plumed sky buffeted by a strong westerly wind. A multitude of greens graced with the pink and mauve of thrift and sea lavender. At the margins, mats of tide-driven flotsam are frosted with the sun-bleached exoskeletal homes of dead crabs. Beyond, down on the beach, the land is on the move: knee-deep rivers of wind-driven sand flow to extinction in the sea. Gulls, waders and eider ducks battle with the surf.
